Never Trust a Thin Cook

I'm a fatty. By default that means one (or both) of two things:

I enjoy eating food.

I enjoy cooking/baking food.

For me, it means both.

The older I get, the more I find myself wanting to explore different cultures of food. I have come to appreciate spicy foods, and foods made with curry. I have even learned to enjoy dessert dishes that don't involve chocolate. Right now, the cuisines I would like to learn more about are Southern and Italian. I mean real Italian. Not Olive Garden style.

Naturally, I love the Food Network. Actually, I am watching it right now. Iron Chef America. I love it. It's the first time I've watched it actually. I am very impressed, and I feel like I'm watching a type of Iron Chef that I can learn from. It's funny because it sounds EXACTLY like the original Iron Chef. It actually sounds like the comments of the guest tasters are still being dubbed over! Heehee, you HAVE to watch one episode to see what I mean. Alton Brown commentates on the show. I love Alton Brown. I also love Sandra Lee and her Semi-Homemade Cooking. And who doesn't love Rachel Ray?!?!?

I wish I could be a Chef. Actually, my dream is to retire with my husband and be a cook for a Bed and Breakfast. It's something I would so much love to do, but I know that there is a lot of devotion involved in becoming a chef. I would lose so much family time, and I have already experienced that once. So, unfortunately, I will have to at least wait until the kidlets are a little older. Then if I feel like pursuing the training and spending the time, I'll chase my dream. In the meantime, call on me if you ever feel like having some good eats!!

My New Favorite Dishes to Make:
